Guidelines for Manuscripts:


-Your manuscript in a pdf, with the application program included, and embedded fonts. 

-a separate file with all the fonts used in the interior and the cover of the book.

-your cover in a file including the application program (such as photoshop), made in the exact dimensions of your book, with 1/8" margins.
-your cover should have the price and the barcode on the back, and the category. Your book should be priced competitively compared to competing books.

-The name, email address, and phone numbers of your cover designer and interior designer.

-your title must be searchable on Amazon.  That means that the title and subtitle together should number 160 characters, including spaces and punctuation, and should include keywords so that the Amazon search engine can find your book. You can find keywords by using WordTracker, or by looking at keywords in competing books.

- an order form on the last page of the book including, "order from dosmonospress.com", the price, shipping costs, a line where tax is calculated (6%), space for credit card information, and mail checks to "Dos Monos Press, PO BOx 300469, Boston, MA 02130

- If you are offering advice, you will need a disclaimer on the copyright page

-Three or more testimonials starting on the first page of the book. Dos Monos Press does not publish books without testimonials.

-we highly recommend that you include one or two testimonials on the back cover from relevant people. If you have an extremely important testimonial, it might go on the front cover.


-The half-title and title page should use the same or very similar font as the cover of your book

-Your final manuscipt must be professionally proofread before it is submitted to us.

-Your preference as to cover (embossing? matt or gloss finish? spot gloss? weight of cover? harcover or paperback?) We suggest you look at the covers of competing books in bookstores.  


Authors Responsibilities for Publicity

The minimum we will need:

-A professional picture of you, both hi-res and low-res
-A short author biography
-A press release
- a website with a button to transfer buyers to dosmonospress.com to purchase your book. Your website must be built to attract traffic.  Preferenence will be given to authors whose websites have at least 30 pages of quality, educational content, and attract at least 50 visitors a day. You must have a page for  testimonials or praise on your website.


Dos Monos Press gives precedence to authors who are planning to do publicity for their books (Amazon Bestseller campaign, send review copies to relevant media, print media opps, radio and tv.
